To achieve its Mission the Institute will:
Promote professional excellence in all aspects of transportation engineering and urban planning and development.
- Foster education and professional development in T&DI.
- Partner with external domestic and international organizations.
- Partner with ASCE Sections and Branches.
- Outreach to policy matters, K-12, college and graduate students and general public.
- Influence transportation, land use, and urban and regional development policy and serve as a legislative/congressional resource.
- Quickly respond to issues related to transportation and community development.
- Promote and encourage T&DI's operating units to develop revenue surplus generating activities to increase funds available for institute activities.
- Recognize and reward excellence.
- Develop and disseminate appropriate standards for transportation and development systems.
- Establish (Solidify) a clear institute identity and promote awareness of who we are.
- Develop stategies to increase membership, both corporate and individual
- Increase involvement in state-of-the-art technologies and practices.
- Disseminate information through sharing information, technology, and practices, vertically and horizontally, using print and electronic media.
