Leadership & Management
Civil engineering professionals must posses leadership and management skills to complement their technical expertise, advance in their careers, and advance the profession as a whole. Successfully communicating the importance of a project to stakeholders and achieving buy-in, motivating employees and co-workers, and leading in a global and diverse environment, are only a few examples where leadership and management skills are needed to bring about results. ASCE has journals, continuing education seminars and self-study materials, conference sessions, and awards in the leadership and management area to help members' improve these skills, discuss new issues, share ideas, and promote their value.
